

Charles Robert “Bob” Waldron, born February 20, 1950 in Minden, Louisiana died suddenly Saturday September 13th. He is survived by his loving wife Nancy of 38 years, his three children Matt (Kelley), Jeff (Alice), and Sarah, two grandchildren Ellie and Charlie, five siblings Virginia (Dennis), Bill (Laura), Ralph (Nina (deceased)), Alicia
(Jim), Stuart (Kay) and numerous nephews and nieces. Bob grew up in northern Louisiana and attended Byrd High School in Shreveport. He went to Tulane University on an athletic scholarship where he attracted the attention of NFL scouts. He was a late round draft pick for the Detroit Lions and saw playing time on their preseason roster. Bob spent most of his career working in finance overseeing large projects for Mobil Oil, a career that led him and his family to travel the world living in the Netherlands, Canada, and the Middle East. At the time of his death Bob was the CFO for the Colorado-based green energy startup Sundrop Fuels. Bob was very proud of his three children, Matt an ordained United Methodist minister, Jeff an award-winning filmmaker and cinematographer, and Sarah an international school teacher and
travel writer. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. He especially loved the Colorado mountains, horseback riding with his wife, and fly fishing. He loved watching football, rooting for the New Orleans Saints and the Denver Broncos. Bob was a member of First United Methodist Church Loveland,
Colorado. A private ceremony for family is forthcoming. In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations in his name to the charity, Hearts and Horses of Loveland Colorado (heartsandhorses.org).
