Chris had many interests and associations in his life. The printing trade appealed to him during his years at Niwot High School. He went on to own his own printing shop, Audubon Graphics and Printing, for many years. He also worked at the Times-Call newspaper and various other print shops in the area.
His Association with the American Legion Post 32, particularly The Sons of the American Legion, lead to his desire to honor our country's veterans of all generations. This wish resulted in the collaborative effort to move the World War I memorial flagpole to its current location in Roosevelt Park. Chris also was instrumental in the installation of the 20th Century Veteran's Memorial which graces the rose garden in Roosevelt Park. Boys State, a program for young men sponsored by the Legion, was dear to Chris's heart. He volunteered much of his time to the cause.
Chris loved all history, especially Colorado history. He reveled in the local stories of railroads, mining, irrigation distribution and colorful characters. He had a remarkable recall of facts and could inform and entertain for hours on many subjects. He was always willing to drive you to the actual sights for a more informed experience!
Chris was a gift to us all with his charming, witty, curious and free-spirted ways. He was known for his generosity of self and willingness to help others.
He leaves behind the broken hearts of his three sisters, step-mother, two step-brothers, numerous nieces and nephews and a wide host of friends.
Memorial services to follow at a later date.
