Claire Marie Ward

Claire Marie Ward, 80 of Johnstown, passed away January 23, 2019 in Loveland, CO. Claire was born August 25, 1938 in Berlin, NH, the oldest of eight children born to Herman and Helen (Marchand) Cadorette. She grew up in Connecticut and spoke only French until the age of five. In 1956, Claire graduated from East Hartford High School.In 1961 Claire visited Longmont, CO on vacation and met Charles Ward. The two fell in love and were married on November 25, 1961 in Denver, CO. She became a full time homemaker and was a loving mother to four children.Claire was a devoted catholic and was very active in her churches, St. Terese in Aurora, CO and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont, CO. She enjoyed traveling to Black Hawk and square dancing with her husband, Chuck.She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband.Claire is survived by four children; Charles Chuck (Kathy) Ward, Jr. of Longmont, Cynthia Cindy (Doug) Grady of Miliken, Helen (Walter) Bolyard of Northglenn and Lucia (Larry) Gartrell of Johnstown, twelve grandchildren; Jamie Diekman, Revae Ward, Victoria Ward, Andrew Bolyard, Janice (Tom) Schneider, Shauna (Jason) Hervey, Rory (Alissa) Hart, Luke (Ryann) Hart, Louis (Ashley) Gartrell, Cody Gartrell, Alexis (Sean) Ford and Abigail Gartrell, twelve great- grandchildren (and one on the way), and seven siblings; J (Linda) Cadorette of NH, Edward (Carol) Cadorette of CT, Jeanne Maloof of FL, Aline (Ron) Stocker of CT, Mary Cadorette of CT, Janet Peltier of NH and Theresa Cadorette of CT.Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
