Most people knew him as Tom, or ‘Cowboy Tom’ for his cowboy boots and hat.
Tom was born in Hominy, Oklahoma to Claud and Velma Brown. After graduating from High School, Tom joined the Air Force, where he served for over 20 years as a photo mechanic and worked on B-52s.
After retiring from the Air Force, Tom had a second career working as a Locksmith. He worked for Boulder Lock and Key, Boulder Security Center, Storage Tec, Buffalo Lock and Key, and ran Tom’s Lock Service from his home for many years. He was also a member of the Rocky Mountain Locksmith Association.
On May 3, 1986, Tom married Janet in Northglenn, Colorado at Crossroads American Baptist Church. This was a second marriage for both of them. Together they shared a combined family that grew to five generations.
His first wife Sue, son Thomas and his parents precede Tom in death. He is survived by his wife Janet, children: Sandra Brown, Shelly Morehead (Utah), Troy Brown, Lynne Unis and Ryan Chance, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. His brother Ed Brown, a niece, nephews and other family in Oklahoma also survive Tom.
Every person was a friend he hadn’t met yet, Tom was a stranger to no one. While traveling with the military or locally, he would befriend the staff at restaurants and eventually they invited him to help himself to coffee. Babies, children, dogs, cats, horses and all animals loved Tom.
In his free time, Tom enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, fishing, hunting, 4 wheeling, Country music, and Western movies.
