Connie Lauree Eckel

Connie Lauree Eckel passed away May 20, 2011 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 73.She was born April 1, 1938 in Beatrice, Nebraska to Gilbert and Lauree (Schickley) Stewart. She graduated from Beatrice High School.On November 9, 1956 in Waterloo, Illinois she married Larry Eckel, whom she had known since their days together at the Methodist Church youth group. Following their marriage they moved to Lincoln, Nebraska and then to Colorado in 1970.Connie was an active business partner with Larry at Woodmont Builders. They were also principles for Water Sports West from 1972 to 1991 and from 1991 to the present at Windsor Shores.She enjoyed many water sports including boating, skiing and fishing. An animal lover and advocate, she was especially fond of her dogs and an active supporter of the Table Mountain Humane Society.She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Joan.Connie is survived by her husband, Larry of Longmont, son Larry Eckel II of Lake Forest, California; daughters Pam Kelker of Denver and Roxie Eckel of Littleton; seven grandchildren Shannon, Melissa, Jesse, Sydney, Brieana, Taran and Austin and two great grandchildren.Memorial services will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. A reception will follow. Cremation is trusted to the care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions to Table Mountain Humane Society can be sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
