Craig was born on February 6, 1963, in Liberal, Kansas to Howard and Betty Popejoy Hayes with his 4 sisters who he loved dearly.
He graduated high school and started truck driving across the U.S. It was one of his pride and joys being able to see the wonders in each state that he was blessed to drive through. The oilfield brought him and his family to Colorado in 2015 from Kansas.
Craig married the love of his life Dianna Hayes on November 2, 2003, in Hugoton, Kansas. Together they raised their 5 beautiful children in a loving home. He raised his children with love and humility. He had a spirit to help everyone if he could. He was described as a wonderful father, brother, and friend and husband. Though he did love to argue at times usually he was right.
There were many ups and downs in their life, but he and Dianna always worked through them with love and commitment to each other.
When he was a kid he had some talent for bowling, winning many trophies over his time. If he wasn’t bowling you could find him playing baseball, where he would brag about his many homeruns and far hits. One even hitting his dad’s truck window. During his free time as an adult, he enjoyed fishing and playing a few tunes on his guitar. He shared the joy of watching little league world series, football and playing catch with his kids. His favorite teams were the Oklahoma and Alabama college team, along with the Denver Broncos.
Craig is survived by his forever love Dianna Hayes, his beautiful children Scott (RaeAnn) Hayes, Jessika (Anthony) Uresti, Joshua Kirby, Joslynn (Justin) Ferguson, Jake Hayes, his wonderful sisters Cheryl (Nacho) Hayes, Carla (Gilbert) Freeman, his amazing grandchildren Cheyenne Hayes, Cheryl Hayes, Cooper Hayes, Toni Comp, Tasha Comp, Tyla Comp, Leah Ferguson, Axel Uresti, Jayla Uresti.
He is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Betty Popejoy Hayes.
