Daniel Allen Baker

Daniel Allen Baker died August 14, 2012 at his home in Denver. He was 58 years old.He was born May 18, 1954 in Gallitan, Missouri to Eugene and Verlene (Harper) Baker. He moved with his family to Longmont, graduating from Longmont High School class of 1972.Daniel married Kay Krug on March 10, 1973 in Longmont. They later divorced.He joined the United States Army in 1974. During his 18 year career was assigned to Army Intelligence, serving primarily at the Pentagon, with a three year deployment to Europe with NATO. He was honorably discharged in 1993. After the Army Daniel remained in Virginia and worked for a data processing company. He returned to Colorado where he has made his home.Dan enjoyed oil painting, reading and running.He was preceded in death by his son Michael Baker; his father Eugene; and his brother James Stephen Baker.He is survived by his son Andy Baker (Jessica Hover) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; his daughter Molly Baker of Longmont, CO; his mother Verlene Linton (Billy); his brother Dick Baker (Marty); his grandson Chance Michael Baker; and his sister-in-law Barb Janovec of Norfolk, NE.Memorial service 10:30am Wednesday August 22, 2012 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Inurnment at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Cremation at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions to the Molly Baker College Fund in c/o Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
