

Darlene Faye Fahrenholtz, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 92. Born on May 7, 1933, in Houston, Minnesota, Darlene was the daughter of John and Lillie Sand (née Flattum).
She graduated from Houston High School and attended Minneapolis Business College. On September 6, 1952, she married Ronald Fahrenholtz in Houston, Minnesota. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising their family and eventually relocating to Boulder, Colorado, in the summer of 1961. In 1984, they settled in Longmont, Colorado, where Darlene continued to make a lasting impact in her community.
Darlene worked at Watts-Hardy Dairy and as a purchasing agent for the University of Colorado, retiring in 1984. She was a dedicated member of the First Lutheran Church of Longmont. She actively participated in organizations such as the Buffalo Belles at CU, Longmont Newcomers, and the Retired Staff Association for the University of Colorado.
A passionate traveler, Darlene found joy in exploring the world with her husband, family, and friends. She visited many countries across Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean, including Germany, Italy, France, Russia, Estonia, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and China. She loved traveling in their motorhome, gardening, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also an enthusiastic supporter of sports, especially football and baseball.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillie Sand; her brother Jerome Sand (Georgia) of Houston, MN; and her brothers Arlis Sand (Alice) of Madison, WI, and Roderick Sand of La Crosse, WI; and her sister Lorraine Freitag (Lloyd) of Austin, MN.
Darlene is survived by her children: Brian Fahrenholtz of Chandler, AZ, and Darcy Ross (Logan J.) of Cape Coral, FL; and her grandchildren: Logan I. Ross (Ingrid) of Chicago, IL, Delaney Phillips (Ronnie) of Loveland, CO, Tyler Fahrenholtz of Chandler, AZ, and Anna Maurice of Arvada, CO. She is also remembered lovingly by her great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Ward of Arvada, CO, Andrew Maurice of Arvada, CO, Logan T. Ross of Chicago, IL, Ivan Ross of Chicago, IL, Wyatt Phillips of Loveland, CO, and many nieces, and nephews.
Darlene’s warmth, generosity, and adventurous spirit touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
