

Dean Joseph Buffington was born at 30 weeks at UC Health University Hospital, weighing 1 pound 7 ounces. Born to the parents of Riley and Ashley Buffington. And entered into the world with his twin brother Carter James Buffington at 2:17 am. From the moment he entered the world, Dean showed extraordinary strength and resilience beyond his tiny size.
Dean was born with Down syndrome, pulmonary vein stenosis, and a hole in his heart. Despite these challenges, he was deeply loved and fiercely fought for every day of his life. His presence, though brief, touched countless hearts and forever changed those who knew him.
Dean’s life was a beautiful reminder that love is not measured in time, but in impact. He brought immeasurable love, hope, and meaning to his family, who will carry his memory with them always. His tiny hands and courageous spirit left an everlasting imprint that will never fade.
Dean Joseph Buffington will be remembered for his strength, his innocence, and the profound love he inspired. He will always be loved, always missed, and forever held in the hearts of those who cherish him.
Dean is survived by his parents Riley and Ashley Buffington, twin brother Carter Buffington, grandparents AJ and Shanon Buffington and Erich and Lisa Reichert. Uncle and Aunts Payton Buffington, Kylie Rusco, Ian Buffington, Randy and Yamilex Reichert (Amelia) and Anthony and Brooke Smith. Great Grandparents Jim and Kay Lynn Buffington, Steve and Denise Beanland, Dean Reichert and Peter and Cindy Hicks. Along with numerous Great Uncles, Aunts and Cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026 Howe Mortuary & Crematory, located at 439 Coffman St, Longmont, CO, 80501. A reception will follow the service at the American Legion Post 1985 located at 870 1st Street, Firestone, CO 80520.
