Doris Marie Ballard Ryan, 78, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 in Longmont Colorado. Doris was born in Jackson, Ohio on November 11, 1938 to Harold and Marie Ballard. Doris worked as an office administrator for an architectural firm for over 20 years and eventually retired. After retirement she moved to Florida for a few years, where she also worked at the Ringling Brothers Museum. In 2010 she moved to Colorado. In life Doris enjoyed many activities such as reading, crosswords, Scrabble and puzzles. She also enjoyed a number of card games including Bridge and Poker.
Doris is survived by her children; David Ryan, Linda Ryan, Daniel Ryan, and Kelly (Mark) McConnell, her grandchildren Matthew and Jeremy McConnell, and Colin Ryan. She is also survived by her sister Beverly (Richard) Shelton. Doris is preceded by her parents and two brothers Harold and Alan Ballard.
A memorial service will be held at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman St. Longmont, at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, February 1st. Reception will be held following the service at Atria Independent Living, 2310 9th Ave. Longmont. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Doris’ name to the COPD Foundation.
