Dorothy Irene Delehoy

Dorothy Delehoy of Firestone, Colorado died September 13, 2007 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 77.Dorothy was born May 16, 1930 in Fort Collins, Colorado to Alex and Katherine (Brill) Pyle. She grew up in the Fort Collins and Cheyenne, Wyoming area. Dorothy was one of 12 children.Dorothy married Herbert Base in 1946 and they had one daughter, Doretta. They later divorced. She married Herold Delehoy in 1968. Dorothy and Herold lived in Iran and California for a number of years. They enjoyed traveling. After Harold?s death she moved to the Longmont area.Dorothy enjoyed painting and was involved with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a great homemaker who began taking care of her brothers and sisters at an early age and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Herold, a son-in-law, Rick Derksen, and four brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Doretta Derksen of Firestone; three grandchildren: Melissa, Angie, and Charlie; three great grandchildren; and seven brothers and sisters.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 18 at Howe Mortuary from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the mortuary with David Bradshaw officiating. Entombment will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
