

Dorothy May Quillen, 84, passed away December 11, 2015 at Peaks Care Center. She was born November 30, 1931 in Douglas, Wyoming where she grew up and graduated from high school. On February 5, 1950, she married Edward K. Quillen, Jr in Douglas. They moved to Greeley, CO living there until 1968 when they moved to Longmont, CO. Dorothy worked as a secretary for the University of Colorado Department of Continuing Education in Boulder. She then worked for Semester at Sea, concluding her career working from home doing typing and word processing. Dorothy was a member of Calvary Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years. She enjoyed reading, playing and listening to music. Dorothy cherished time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward in 2011, two sons Philip in 1974 and Edward III in 2012, and two sisters Phyllis Exley and Fay Kolodziejczyk. Dorothy is survived by two sons Anthony Quillen (Martha) of South Carolina and Kurt Quillen (Sandy) of Longmont, eight grandchildren, Columbine, Abby, Andrew, Kevin, Kristopher and Nathaniel Quillen and Walden and Candler Buttram, fourteen great grandchildren, daughter-in-law Martha Quillen of Salida, CO and brother Gene Wollen (Esther) of Glenrock, Wyoming. Memorial services will be 1:30pm Friday, December 18, 2015 at Calvary Church. Private interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
