
Eleanor Lois Ruff of Boulder went to be with her Savior Thursday February 24, 2011 after a lengthy illness. She was 86.The daughter of Howard Keith and Irene Legler Keith, she was born February 19, 1925, in Fullerton, NE. She married Gerhardt M. Ruff on July 4, 1949 in Grand Island, NE. They made their home in Boulder in 1952. Early in their marriage they performed live on the radio as Lois & Gay, Pals of the Golden West. They later were known as The Ruff Family.When her children were young she worked at home for Hank Roberts tying fish hooks and flies. Lois later worked for Gerico as a seamstress making baby carriers. After retiring, she worked for House of Lloyd and traveled to several countries. Lois enjoyed playing the mandolin, bowling, gardening, embroidering, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a dedicated Sunday School teacher. Lois lived her life with zeal and cared greatly for others.Lois and Gerhardt had three children, David Ruff, of Longmont; Elaine Hudson of Laguna Beach, CA and Karla Wood of Boulder. She had five grandsons, three granddaughters; three brothers and four sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerhardt, grandson Joshua Werner, and brother Lyle Keith, and son-in-law Norman Hudson.Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Peace Lutheran Church, 2790 Jay Road, Boulder. The Victory Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 4 at the church. Pastor Jesse Stern will officiate. Interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boulder. Memorial contributions in Lois' name may be made to Peace Lutheran Church, care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry Street, Longmont, 80501.
