Everett Charles Swanson passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by family, January 26, 2025, at his home in Longmont, CO at the age of 93. He was born July 22, 1931, in Denver, CO to Everett Carl and Agnes Catherine Swanson. When he was very young his family moved to Boulder. He met his wife to be, Nancy, at a Boulder High dance and they later married in July 1951.
In December 1950, Everett joined the Air Force to serve during the Korean War. After serving his time he and Nancy returned home to Boulder where they raised their two daughters.
Both Everett and Nancy worked in the family grocery, Ideal Market, until Everett went back to school to become an Electronics Engineer. He was in on the ground floor with computer technology working as a Field Engineer for NBI and Philips.
Everett was an avid fly fisherman and often tied his own flies. He and Nancy enjoyed traveling in their motorhome to numerous fishing spots in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. One of his favorite areas to fish was the South Platte by Deckers. Their Grandchildren accompanied them on some of those trips.
He was a devout Christian and loved studying and learning. He enjoyed history, however, his favorite subject was the Bible which he read cover to cover from December 2023 through February 2024. He had started through it for the second time in November 2024.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charles, his grandson Jason and various other family members. He is survived by his wife Nancy, two daughters Deanne Ketterman and Shelly Marcotte (Steve), four grandchildren: Lucien (Elizabeth), Jesse, Jonathan, Tanessa (Christopher) and six great grandchildren: Brookelyn, Isabella, Jason, Dylan, Noah and Thomas.
