Frederick Charles Murphy

Frederick Murf Charles Murphy passed away June 23, 2017 at his home at Hover Community Senior Living. He was 79 years old.Fred was born on January 26, 1938 to Frederick and Bernice Murphy. Along with his 3 siblings the family grew up entirely in Utica, NY. He met and married the love of his life, Pauline Hardman, on September 22, 1960. After raising their family of three children in New Hartford, NY, they decided to move to Longmont, CO in 2005. Fred was a longtime loyal member of the teamsters union working in the retail food industry, meat packing and newspaper distribution trade for many years before retiring in 1993. He was of the Catholic faith; and enjoyed sports especially the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies; and loved spending time with friends as well as socializing during happy hour at the Hover Manor. Fred was preceded in death by his wife Pauline; his parents; one brother Bill Murphy; and one sister Judy Zimmer. He is survived by his children Brian Murphy of Arlington, TX, Alan (Christine) Murphy of North Richland Hills, TX and Marsha Murphy of Longmont, CO; his sister Sheila Graveline of Alabama; and his grandchildren Austin Murphy of North Richland Hills, TX, Preston Murphy of Arkansas and Amanda Murphy of Fort Collins, CO. At Fred's request no services will be held. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
