
Jerry Dittmer, Sr., of Log Lane Village, CO., passed away June 8, 2017 at TRU Hospice of Northern Colorado Care Center in Greeley. He was 83 years old.Jerry was born on September 17, 1933 in Kearney, NE. to Raymond H. and Dorothy (Huffman) Dittmer. He grew up around North Platte, NE. before he moved to the Boulder/Lyons area as a young man to work with his Aunt and Uncle raising turkeys. As soon as he was old enough Jerry joined the Marine Corps and served two tours of duty in Korea.On July 3, 1955 he married Delores F. Medford. Jerry was of the Presbyterian faith and was a member of the Masons and the Shriners.Jerry was very passionate about his horses and loved anything to do with them. He loved life and people; and worried about everyone else and put their needs first. In later years he added a new passion to his life in raising Corgi dogs.Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Delores; his parents; his brothers Jack, Bill and Tom and his sister Donna Jean.He is survived by his son Jerry Dittmer, Jr.; his daughters Jennifer (Grant) Godfrey and Janice Harmant; his grandchildren Christopher Dittmer, Cassie (Taylor) Thompson and Madison and Seth Harmant; his great grandchildren Willem and Brayland Dittmer and his sisters Phyllis and Nancy.A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Inurnment at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
