Geraldine Bennett

Geraldine Wiltse Bennett, 85, was born March 24th, 1930 in Lamar, KS and died December 2, 2015 in Longmont, CO.Gerry was born to George and Emma Wiltse in Lamar, Kansas and was the youngest of ten kids.Gerry's father died when she was only 4 years old, and shortly after that her mother disappeared. The oldest siblings raised the younger ones as their own to prevent them from going to an orphanage. Gerry was proud to have five brothers serve in the Military during WWII. She was a very talented seamstress and would sew clothes for herself, her sons and her grandchildren. She also knitted, crocheted, made dolls and was an avid crafter in her spare time. In her retirement, she also enjoyed camping and even spent time hosting at various campgrounds around Colorado. Gerry married Sam Lawyer when she was 17 years old and they had two sons Gary W. Lawyer and Daryl E. Lawyer. She and Sam were later divorced. Geraldine was preceded in death by all nine of her Wiltse siblings. She is also preceded in death by her eldest son, Gary W. Lawyer. Gary married Marilyn Triplett and had three sons: Bill Lawyer (Tara) and their four daughters of Atlanta, GA; Harry Lawyer of Longmont; John Lawyer (Natalie Santelli) and his two daughters of Fort Collins, CO. Gerry is also survived by her husband Richard Bennett; her son Daryl and wife Karen Lawyer of Longmont and their three children: Colin Miller (Laura LeBon) of Mead; Alissa Lauer (Dave) and three sons of Boise, ID; Jake Lawyer of Union, OR and his three daughters. In total Gerry had six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren, seven nieces and three nephews all whom she loved deeply. A graveside service will be held on Tues. Dec 8th 2015 at 1:30 pm at Foothills Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Memorial service provided by Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
