

An Eagle Scout, Green Beret, and Professional Engineer with a love of soccer and climbing mountains, Glenn Carriere dedicated his life to his children and beloved wife, Susi. Throughout his life, Glenn never failed to reach the lofty goals he continually set for himself.Glenn Dee Carriere, PE passed away on Jan. 18, 2017. He was 66.He was born in Oklahoma City, OK, on April 21, 1950, the son of Lawrence Charles Carriere and Frances Helen Penney. Glenn graduated from West Point in 1973 with his first of two degrees in Engineering and a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Infantry.While serving in the U.S. Army, Glenn received the Army Commendation Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Army Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the coveted Army Ranger Tab. As a member of the 5th Special Forces group, Glenn resigned his commission as a Captain (P) after six years of active service.After leaving the Army, Glenn attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a Master of Science in Civil Engineering. He earned his Professional Engineer license in Wyoming, Oklahoma and Colorado. Glenn retired from the City of Boulder after 23 years as a Civil Engineer. Glenn was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Charles Carriere.Glenn is survived by his wife of 40 years, Susi Keith; sons Brian (Lucy) Carriere, Murfreesboro, TN, and Aaron Carriere, Tempe, AZ; daughter, Janelle Carriere, Austin, TX; and grandson, Bradley Charles. He also is survived by his mother, Frances Parman; sisters, Penney Ondriezek, Laura Parman-Flores, Cindy Fontenot and Susan Phillips; brother, David Carriere; and numerous nieces and nephews.Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
