Glenn “Buddy” Edward Stocker lll, 59, passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 7, 2022 in his home. Buddy was born on December 24, 1962 to Glenn Edward Stocker Jr., who preceded him in death and Dixie Stocker (Parsons) in Boulder Colorado.
The family moved to Farmington, New Mexico in 1979. Buddy graduated from Farmington High School in 1981 and received his Associate Degree in Machine Shop from San Juan College in 1983. He moved back to the Boulder/Longmont area in 1985 to work for HPS Corporation as a machinist. This is where he met his wife Jacque (Lesser). They were married June 20, 1987 and both continued to work with the company through many changes including the company being purchased by MKS Instruments. After 37 years with the company as a machinist and CNC Programmer, Buddy retired. His last day of work was February 1, 2022.
Buddy loved riding motorcycles from an early age, and excelled at trials bike riding in the high desert country around Farmington, NM. He always loved to ride fast and kick up a lot of dirt – except trials bike riding requires slow controlled power and precision. It seems like he did a lot of bike repairs, tire changing and recovering from crashes. He then switched to skiing for a few years after moving back to Colorado.
Buddy loved golf and played for many years. He participated in a league arranged by coworkers for several years. He and Jacque also played in and helped organize for several years the company golf tournament.
Buddy was always looking for the most spectacular scenery and four wheeling gave him the chance to see things, he wouldn’t have otherwise. He purchased his Xterra and proceeded to modify it so that he could go explore the great outdoors of Colorado and Utah and many other places. He was one of the founding members of NORAC, Nissan Off Road Association of Colorado.
Buddy was a member of the NRA, and enjoyed spending at least part of his warm weather weekends target shooting. He was very patriotic and loved America. He stood up for and supported our American flag, our constitution, our military and our 2nd Amendment rights.
Buddy always loved his pets, beginning with his puppy, Blue Shadow, from age four, and Mama Honey and her kittens when he was a teenager. As an adult, along with Jacque and their kids, they adopted cats – Kitty, Kahlua, Bailey, Sam, Harley, Mica and Dusty (who he insisted on calling Charles Mufasa) and one dog – Tilly who he affectionately called “Killer” as he held her like a baby.
Buddy is survived by his wife Jacque, his children Ryan (Ashley) and Rachel and his grandson Liam. He is also survived by his mother Dixie Baker, his sister Molly Stocker-McKay (Patrick), Aunt Virginia Aragon, Uncle Phil Parsons (Sammi), Uncle K. K. Parsons (Barbara) and many, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Please join us for a celebration of his life on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the National Park Service in memory of Buddy.
Go rest high on our special mountain, Buddy. Your work on earth is done. God has called you home, so you can rest in peace. Your family loves you forever and always.
