Howard Raymond Hutcherson

Howard Raymond Ray Hutcherson of Longmont died June 22, 2011 at Applewood Living Center. He was 88 years old. Ray was born November 13, 1922 in Ft. Lupton, CO and graduated from Ft. Lupton High School. After high school he lived at home, working on his parents' farm in Ft. Lupton for 2 years. Ray honorably served in the U.S. Navy for four years. After his service in the Navy, Ray returned to Colorado where he met his wife, Garnette, and they were married in 1949.They moved to Redding, Iowa where they purchased a grocery store. From there, they moved to Independence, MO, where Ray worked for General Motors for 6 years. They returned to Colorado where Ray worked for a lumber yard in Boulder and then transferred to Grand Junction where he later retired. Ray and Garnette moved to Longmont to retire. Ray then worked for the St. Vrain Valley School District until 1999. He enjoyed fishing and collecting.Ray is survived by his sister, Majorie (Hutcherson) Wright of Longmont and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Garnette (Hawk) Hutcherson; parents, Howard and Bertha Hutcherson; sisters, Louise Orchard and Kathryn McWilliams and brothers, Donald and Galen Hutcherson.No local services. Inurnment in Parnell, MO. Cremation is under the care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
