Isabel M. Vasquez

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Isabel M. Vasquez. Isabel was born on March 21, 1936, in Trinidad Colorado, and passed away peacefully in her home on February 10, 2025, in Lyons Colorado, at the age of 88.

Isabel is preceded in death by her father, mother and sisters. Her sons Ramon Vasquez, Jesus Vasquez and Gaspar Vasquez. Her two grandchildren. Isabel is survived by her loving sons and daughters Anita Rodriguez (Lalo), Pauline Varela, Raul Vasquez (Karen), Esteban A. Vasquez (Sherrie), Abraham M. Vasquez (Gabriella), Elizabeth M. Vasquez, and Linda M. Alvarado (Clemente). Her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends as well.

Family was everything to Isabel and she always enjoyed having them with her. Isabel had a love for her music that she would write and would sing for all to listen. She was a part of the Three Star Trio group as a teenager in Trinidad, Colorado and sang at KCRT radio station. She also wrote poems to share. She was a cook for many years at Andrea’s restaurant and always enjoyed cooking for her family. She also taught cooking classes for Mexican food in Lyons. Isabel is a lifelong Lyons pioneer. Her favorite sports teams were the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

A visitation for Isabel will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St., Longmont, Colorado 80501. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 14, 2025 at 10:00 AM at The River Community Church, 18668 N. Saint Vrain Drive, Lyons, CO 80541. A burial will occur Friday, February 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Lyons Cemetery.
