

Jack was born on October 8, 1934 in Mead, Colorado to George and Mae Dorr. He was raised in Mead on the family ranch.
He attended Longmont High School in 1952. He later attended Colorado School of Mines on a Football and Track scholarship. Jack also attended the University of Colorado Boulder and Denver University receiving a BS in Nuclear Physics and Mathematics. Jack and Betty Lou married on January 20, 1956 at St. John Catholic Church Longmont. Jack spent his career in the nuclear weapons production industry and later in the aerospace industry, retiring from Rockwell International in California.
Jack enjoyed fly fishing, hunting, backpacking and skiing. He and Betty Lou were avid travelers after retirement. He enjoyed his many friends, especially his two sons. His five grandchildren Lindsey, Danielle, Nathan, Mary and Morgan; and his 2 great grandchildren.
Surviving Jack are his two sons, Dana John (Valerie) and Kent Alexander (Dawn).
A vigil service will be held at Howe Mortuary in Longmont on Thursday, 4/21 from 3 – 5pm; Recitation of the Rosary at 5pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, 4/22, 10am at St. John Catholic Church in Longmont followed by a committal service at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont.
