James J. Di Orio

James J. Di Orio, 88, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at his home in Longmont. Jim was born to James and Jennie (Moschetti) Di Orio on February 24, 1927 in Canon City.He was a veteran of the US Navy and was honorably discharged in 1946.On June 29, 1948, he was married to Irene Marie Romontio in Florence, CO. Jim worked in the cement industry for Ideal Cement Company for 42 years in Florence, Fort Collins, and Albuquerque, NM. The couple returned to Colorado in 1970, lived in Longmont and Jim worked as a plant manager in Lyons. After retirement Jim worked at Heritage Bank for several years. He was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Longmont. He was a life member of B.P.O. ELKS, the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene Di Orio on April 17, 2011; and his brother, Leo Di Orio.He is survived by his sons, James DiOrio, III (Kelly) of Henderson, Leo DiOrio (Cecilia) of Broomfield; and his grandchildren, Mia & Megan, and Nicholas.Mass of Christian Burial 10am on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, (323 Collyer St, Longmont, 80501).
