

James S. Hanuman, 83, most recently of Berthoud, CO, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017. Mr. Hanuman, a retired computer software engineer, worked for federal government agencies (including the U.S. Departments of Labor and Interior) and several private sector corporations throughout the U.S. over the course of his career, taking him and his family to many states across the country.He was born in Fishing Pond, Trinidad and Tobago, to Andrew and Mary (Judhan) Hanuman on Sunday, April 22, 1934, when the country was still a British colony. Mr. Hanuman immigrated to Great Britain in the 1950s before Trinidad's independence, worked professionally in Germany for a time, and eventually immigrated to the United States in the 1960s at the height of the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights movement.Mr. Hanuman was a devoted father to his sons, an avid adherent of physical exercise, read constantly and absorbed current events daily, loved astronomy and gardening, and enjoyed his dogs and raising other animals. He is survived by his former spouse, Pam Phillips-Webb, and four sons, Andrew Hanuman, Anthony Hanuman, Arnold Hanuman, and Allen Hanuman (wife Jockquelynne); a younger brother, Isaac Hanuman of London, England; four grandchildren, Rain, Ian, Maia, and Calvin; and a great-granddaughter, Micol. Mr. Hanuman has in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family throughout the U.S., Canada, England, Australia, and the Caribbean. He was preceded in death by his brothers Paul, Stephen, and Solomon. A private family service was held on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, Longmont, CO.
