
Janet Reeves Palermo died September 8, 2012, at Longmont United Hospital. She was 53 years old. She had her daughter at her side, and it was a peaceful passing. She was born September 30, 1958, in Des Moines, Iowa to Bob and Beverly (Dorian) Reeves.Janet has lived in Texas since she was 19. She married Joseph Palermo at the First Presbyterian Church in Denton, Texas on June 8th, 1996. They had a beautiful life together. She is remembered as a loving wife and mother. She was active in many aspects of her daughter, Pearl's, school activities at Ponder Independent School district, as well as being a girl scout troop leader.Janet worked many years as a caterer, and was a very passionate, skilled chef.Janet was a loving Grandmother, and is remembered as always being happy, sweet-natured and smiling, she never met a stranger! She had a great love of being in nature, camping, watching the sunset, and singing around a fire. In her final hours when asked if she wanted to say anything about her life, she said, I had a good time.Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, who died in January of 2012. Janet had moved to Longmont to be close to her daughter and family, and was present for the birth of her first granddaughter. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Patty.She is survived by her daughter Pearl and son-in-law Ryan Spinharney, three grandchildren: Rolle, Gabriel and Mia, and five siblings Karen Ernst, Fran Schranz, Bobby Reeves, Kevin Reeves, and Jeff Reeves. She is deeply missed by all of her loved ones.A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 29th at 7pm at Trinity Presbyterian church, 2220 North Bell Ave. Denton, Texas 76209. A reception for friends and family will follow on Sunday, September 30th, at 2pm, at the Dupree's residence, 1022 Kings Row, Denton, Texas, to celebrate her birthday. It was Janet's wish to be cremated, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
