Jean Ellen Evans

Jean was born on September 8th, 1931, in Longmont, Colorado to Frank and Marie Ross. She also had 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Jean spent her entire life in Longmont and graduated from Longmont High School in 1949. After graduation, she began working in the banking industry and retired from the industry many years later.

Jean married William J. Evans on February 24th, 1952. They raised their 3 children together, before William passed. Later in life, Jean became close with John Lind and they were cherished companions to each other for 28 years. Together they continued to love and raise their families.

When Jean wasn’t spending time with family or friends, she enjoyed playing golf with the Sunset Ladies 9 Hole League, playing bridge, and going to church at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where she always enjoyed coffee with friends after mass. She also enjoyed square dancing, bowling, and traveling.

Jean’s family and friends described her as an outgoing, kind, and funny woman who lit up the room. Everyone around knew her for her jokes and making everyone laugh. She was always bringing smiles to everyone’s faces, and it was impossible not to enjoy her presence.

Jean is survived by her children Kent Evans (Shelly), Kerry Evans (Jeff Ponzar), grandkids Cody Dylan, Cassidy Devin, Brady, Haley, William (Liam), Evan, great grandkids Nolan, Kynlee, Kadyn, Ryker, along with John Lind’s family.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Marie Ross, her husband William J. Evans, her siblings Lorene Clevland, Lee Ross, Lois Roberts, Leon Ross, her daughter Cathy Chapman, and John Lind.

Memorial Mass for Jean will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church located at 323 Collyer St. Longmont, Co 80501. Livestream link: https://youtube.com/live/OfWtsuVdl_I?feature=share A reception is to follow the mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Following the reception Jean will be laid to rest at Foothills Garden of Memory located at 14241 N 107th St, Longmont, CO 80504, at 1:30 p.m.
