Jeanne held positions as a lab technician, a science teacher, and finally as a research librarian in the R & D department of the Estee Lauder Company. After retirement, she worked part time at the Glen Cove Senior Center, which she greatly enjoyed.
Jeanne was very active in the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Muttontown, NY. She loved to read fiction of all kinds. She also enjoyed Jeopardy and crossword puzzles, and she could not be beat at Scrabble.
Jeanne is survived by her children George Oppenheimer of New York, Elizabeth "Betty" Taylor and her husband Scott of Colorado, and Ruth Oppenheimer and her husband Welkin Johnson of Massachusetts; and her grandchildren Jeremy, Kacey & Alex, and Sophia & Nikolas and their mother Sarah Homrighausen.
