Jennifer 'Jennie' Williams

Jennie Williams, a lifelong resident of Longmont, died July 6, 2011 at her home after a year-long battle with cancer. She was 33. Jennie was born on September 2, 1977 in Longmont, the daughter of Gene and Janet (Lilland) Williams. She graduated from Skyline High School in 1995, where she was active in Band and Color Guard. Jennie then attended Metro State College. She later earned an Associates degree in Massage Therapy followed by an Associates degree in Personal Training.Jennie worked as a Personal Trainer at Anytime Fitness in Lakewood and as a Preschool teacher at Ascension Lutheran Preschool in Littleton. She was of the Christian faith.Jennie was active with 4-H clubs, especially in clothing construction, sheep, and dog obedience. She was a member of the American Council on Exercise (ACE), an organization for personal trainers. Jennie enjoyed CNS auto racing and had been attending races since the age of 10. She helped race teams in the pits and timed the races. Jennie had recently taken up 4-Wheeling with her boyfriend, Jon. She also enjoyed going out dancing, listening to country music and spending time with her girlfriends.Jennie's legacy is the positive influence, with loving discipline, that she had on so many young lives during her years of teaching young children.Jennie was preceded in death by her father, Gene Williams in December 2010; her grandparents, Walter and Mary Heussmann, and Oswald and Hulda Lilland and her sister-in-law, Regina Williams.She is survived by her boyfriend, Jon Ward; her mother, Janet Williams of Longmont and her brothers, Jeff Williams (Freddie) of Mead and Alan Williams of Johnstown. Jennie is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of loving friends.A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Calvary Church, 2101 Gay Street. Cremation has taken place at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
