Joan Bernice Mastel

Joan Mastel of Longmont, CO, passed away October 3, 2006, after many years of battling cancer. She was 72 years old.Ms. Mastel was born February 24, 1934 in Fargo, ND to Margaret Mastel. She married Ralph Lamusga in 1953 and they adopted 2 children, Suzanne and Paul. They were later divorced.Ms. Mastel worked for many years in the accounting field, retiring in 1999. She continued to work part-time from home.She enjoyed working in the yard, trips to the mountains and going to the beach when she lived in California. Her hobbies included needlework, crocheting and her own Web Page on the Internet.She is survived by her children, Suzanne Bartling and her husband, Joseph, of Overland Park, KS and Paul Lamusga of Longmont, CO; two grandchildren, Marissa and Brian Bartling; two sisters, Eyvonne White and her husband, Bill, of Louisville, CO and Alice Johnson of Johnstown, CO. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Margaret Wright.Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary. Remembrance services will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in the chapel on Saturday, October 7 at 3 pm with the Reverend Brian Morrow as Celebrant.
