Joan Elaine McDonald

Joan Elaine McDonald passed away on December 29, 2015 at the age of 73. Joan was born on January 14, 1942 in Newton KS to Earl and Irene Lynch. Joan attended Newton High School. Joan married her high school sweetheart, Jay McDonald in 1960, and the two were married for 49 years until Jay's passing in 2009. Joan was a dedicated and selfless mother of three boys. She loved to laugh, and could light up the room with her smile. Joan made everyone around her feel loved always. Joan was a passionate, loving, caring and artistic person who enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, traveling and shopping. Joan also had a passion for animals, and loved to visit the animals at the Humane Society. Joan is survived by her three sons: Jerad (Julie) of Longmont, Jon (Maggie) of Colleyville, TX, and Jason (Valerie) of Orlando, FL; five grandchildren: Tyler Jay McDonald of Longmont, Kate Olivia and Jack Warren McDonald of Colleyville, TX, and Jay Martin and Madison Lynn McDonald of Orlando, FL; sister Earlene Evans (Ron) of Broken Arrow, OK. Joan will be remembered for her hospitality, humor and generosity.Memorial service 5:00 PM Thursday December 31, 2015 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
