

John was born June 7, 1947 in Gloversville, New York, the son of Jack and Florence (Wolleat) Bornstein. He moved to Longmont in 1976 from Madison, Indiana. He served in the United States Air Force being honorably discharged in 1973.
John worked in the field of construction as an ironworker and was a member of the American Legion, Post #32, Longmont.
On July 30, 1982 he married Carlotta Oak in Longmont, Colorado.
John is survived by his wife Carlotta of Longmont, his sons Ronald Bornstein and Matthew Bornstein and his children Matt, Jr and Rosie of Louisville, KY and his daughters Jacquelyn Bornstein and Mavoureen Bornstein and her children Kyla, Skyla, Estrella, Tierra, Franky and Lillyana of Longmont, CO. He is further survived by his brother Phil Bornstein and his sister Mary Grubbs of Madison, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by parents and two brothers John and Paul Bornstein.
Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2011 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel with David Bradshaw officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion, Post #32, Longmont.
Inurnment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO.
