John Newton Dean

He was born on June 19, 1930 in Gem, Kansas to Helen (Salisbury) Dean and William Thomas Dean. He had 8 siblings.

He joined the US Army right out of high school and served in the Korean War.

He married LaVerne Arvis Wilcox in Densmore, Kansas on November 11, 1954 and moved to Boulder, CO. shortly thereafter. They had four children.

After working many years at the Boulder Furniture Company, he began work at Denver Boulder Bus Company, which later joined RTD. He retired there after thirty years.

He enjoyed spending time with his Grandchildren, riding his bike, and always loved a good western movie and a funny sitcom.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife LaVerne, his son Douglas John Dean, and his son in law LeRoy James Ritter.

He is survived by his son David Newton Dean of Boulder, daughter Debbie Kay Ritter of Texas, son

Donald (Venus) Dean of Longmont, grandchildren Casy Ruth, Crystal (Mike) Curtis, Brittany (Kevin)

Cleveland, Ashley Barr, Philamer Babaylo, Precious Babaylo, Paxton Babaylo and Phoebe Babaylo. Great Grandchildren Olivia Cleveland, Danielle Barr, Hannah Barr, Jaikub Curtis, David Curtis, Shayndel Navarro and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the hospice staff at T.R.U. Community Care in Louisville, CO for their dedication, compassion and love for John during his stay there.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 18 at Howe Mortuary Chapel in Longmont. Burial will follow at Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder.
