John R. Pierce of Longmont, CO went home to Jesus, his Lord and Savior on November 27, 2013. He served his Lord and church community at New Creation Church for 31 years, he served his country for four years in the United States Air Force, and he served the City of Boulder Police Department for twenty-seven years, retiring as a police lieutenant.
John was lovingly committed to his family—as husband to Sally; dad to his five children: Chris (Debra) of Georgia, Shawn (Jennifer) of Berthoud, Scott (Sara) of Johnstown, Diane McGowan and Linda (Scott) Rose of Longmont. John was extremely proud of his eleven grandchildren: Joshua (Anna) Pierce, Karissa (Joshua) Dick, Katrina and Kellsie Pierce, Nathan, Nichole and McKenna Pierce, Meghan McGowan, Melissa Rose, Heather (Kyle) Kerk and Matthew Rose, and his three great grandchildren: Jackson and Aniston Pierce and Jocelyn Kirk.
A private service was held on December 2, 2013 in Longmont with Howe Mortuary entrusted with services.
