

Jack, the youngest of four children, was born April 17, 1931 to Elsworth Roy Weaver and Anna May (Bearley) Weaver in Leoti, Kansas.
They moved to Glenwood Springs in 1938. Jack sang in church, joined cub scouts and the swim team. He hawked newspapers on the street, cleaned up construction sites with his dad and hand set ten pins in the bowling alley.
In the summer of 1942 the family moved to Grand Junction. Jack continued singing in the church Chancel Choir, Boy Scouts, school band and was the Drum Major whenever they marched. In HS he participated in football, track, music, drama, choir, student government and year book. As a Senior Scout he was a bugler, hike master, and taught handicrafts at camp. A photo of buglers Jack and Walt Engel was published on the back cover of Boys Life Magazine.
Jack graduated from Central High in 1949 and joined the U.S. Navy in September 1950 with three of his closest friends. He attended basic training in Great Lakes, Illinois Naval Training Center where his aptitude tests qualified him for the electronics school, in Treasure Island, CA. Jack was the lead singer in the Treasure Island quartet featured on San Francisco TV. Jack was assigned to the DDR-838, USS Earnest G. Small, ""Dirty Ernie,"" a specialized radar picket ship designed to patrol two-three hundred miles ahead of major task forces and detect enemy planes.
He left the U.S. Navy in 1954 and attended Mesa Jr. College. He played football, wrestled, traveled with the Mesa Troupe Quartet and was Sophomore Class President. On May 28, 1955 he married Patricia Beckley. He completed his Associates Degree at Mesa then they moved to Boulder where Jack completed his Bachelors in Science in Electrical Engineering and Distributed Business. While in college Jack worked at the National Bureau of Standards. Their first two children were born at this time; Virginia May and Vanette Lee.
After graduating Jack worked for Schlumberger in Farmington, New Mexico where their last child, Andrew Clyde was born. In 1961 they moved to Buena Park, CA to work for Hughes Aircraft and was transferred to Fort Bliss, El Paso, TX to train U.S. Army personnel on the Missile Monitor System, a digitalized air defense system. After this assignment the family returned to Colorado, 1962, where he worked for CF&I Steel in Pueblo. In 1967 he was transferred to the CF&I Steel plant in San Francisco, CA as Superintendent of Industrial Engineering. In 1970 he resigned and the family moved to Longmont where he worked for Gould as Chief Industrial Engineer then in 1974 for Faith Contracting Corp where he helped start the Colorado Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). Jack then bought half interest in two construction companies. Highlights of his construction career were Ammon's Park in Lakewood and a home in Aspen that was featured in 1984 Feb. issue of the Architectural Digest.
In 1984 he sold his interest and began to search for a new career path. He returned to school getting another Bachelors degree in Education. His search led him into Gold Mining where the second largest nugget in CO history, the ""Turtle Nugget"" was discovered and is displayed at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. From 1990-97 Jack worked with Primerica helping others become financially successful.
In 1997 they setup the Beckley-Weaver Scholarship at Mesa Jr. College Foundation for needy Grand Jct. Central HS graduates. In 2000 Jack and Pat renewed their marriage vows. This past May they celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Jack continued to sing in the United Methodist Church of Longmont and gave his final Solo June 7, 2015
Surviving are his wife of Longmont; daughter Ginger Weaver of Wray, Co; son Andy Weaver (Janet) of Aurora, CO; sister Erma Layman of LaVerne, CA; five grandchildren Ashley Dellemonache; Nicholas Weaver; Hayden Brown (Belem Ceballos); Forrest Weaver, Jade Weaver and great granddaughter Avery Brown.
Preceding him in death are an infant daughter Vanette; brother William Weaver; sister Verna Karly.
A Memorial will be held at the Howe Mortuary Chapel, in Longmont on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 10:00 am. Interment at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado, Grand Junction, Co.
