Jose "Willie" Guillermo Torrez

Willie was born on April 25, 1938 in Amalia, New Mexico and entered into eternal life on December 23, 2021 in Louisville, Colorado. He is survived by his wife, DeVonna Torrez whom he was married to for 52 years. His children Frank Torrez (Michele), Teresa Lobato, Millie Torrez (Deanna), Richard Torrez, Marie Torrez (Robert), Billy Manzanares (Jason), Laura Kvame (Scott), Amanda Quesada (Lonnie) and Leandrew Torrez (Theresa). He has 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. His sisters Mary Bustamante and Ida Vela (Victor) and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Repito Torrez and Ursalita Archuleta, his son William Torrez and great grandson Diego Gonzales-Vigil. His brothers and sisters Johnny Torrez, Fred Torrez, Robert Torrez, Lloyd Torrez, Rose Bustamante and Evelyn Estrada.

Willie had a love for the mountains. He was always up for a day trip to Estes Park for some early morning fishing. When he was at home you could always catch him watching Western movies during the day and wrestling during the evening. He had a love for music in which he had a band with his brothers that he played the guitar in. His love for his family was always first as he worked hard as a mechanic at Bradley’s, an assembly line worker at Case Logic and ending his career as a courtesy clerk at Safeway so he could provide for his family. Willie will be greatly missed as he is loved by many.

A visitation for Willie will be held Monday, January 10, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Howe Mortuary Chapel, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, CO 80501. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Howe Mortuary Chapel.
