Josefina was born May 8, 1934 in Boulder, Colorado the daughter of Pete and Cuca (Rodriquez) Barajas. She married Jesus Mercado and was a homemaker who enjoyed her life as a wife and mother.
She is survived by her loving companion Juan Martinez, her son Junior Mercado and his wife Randi Hannum, Greeley, CO, her daughters Janie (Dal) Kaaland, Deming, WA, Josie (Johnny) Maez, Platteville, CO and Lupe (Pablo) Sanchez, Platteville, CO. Further survivors include her brother Joe Barajas and his former wife Debbie, Longmont, CO and her sisters Connie Villa, Longmont, CO and Margie Barajas, Longmont, CO. 8 grandchildren 16 great grandchildren and her furry four legged best friend, Zena.
Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.
Private family services will be held.
