Josephine Marie Regnier

As the sun set on May 16, 2007, Josphine Marie Regnier, 94, left this life for a joyous reunion with her ancestors. Those whom preceded her in death include her husband, Jules George Regnier; her parents, Charles and Ebronie (Streuve) Borra; a son, Phillip E. Regnier; a grandson, Paul Regnier; a brother, Jerome Borra; and two sisters, Sister Mary Carmel (Clara) Borra, and Martha Gutfelder.Josephine will be greatly missed by her son, Jules C. Regnier of Longmont; a brother, Camille Borra of Denver; a sister, Sister Mary Charles (Marguerite) Borra of Missouri; six grandchildren, J. Joseph Regnier, Bernadette Regnier, Louise (Art) Price, Theresa (Rick) Albert, Margaret Regnier, and Anne (Phil) Hansen; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.She was born Josephine Marie Borra on October 22, 1912 on her parents? farm in east Boulder County, Colorado. She attended St. Louis Catholic School in Louisville. On June 26, 1932, Josephine married Jules George Regnier in Louisville. The couple farmed 3 miles north of Louisville before purchasing their farm southeast of Longmont in 1944.Josephine was seamstress who sewed, knitted, crocheted, quilted, and generously shared her works with family, friends, and charitable organizations. She helped work the land, from driving horses to modern day machinery. Josephine gardened, canned and maintained a beautiful landscape of flowers. She was most proud of her African violet collection. Josephine was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.A Vigil service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, 2007 at Howe Mortuary, Longmont. Rosary begins at 4:00 p.m., visitation will continue from 4:30 until 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 21, 2007, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Longmont. A private interment service will be held later at Green Mountain Cemetery, Boulder.Memorial donations may be made to the Weld Food Bank, 1108 H Street, Greeley, CO 80631.
