He arrived on August 30, 1987, in a hurry and already prepared to take on the next challenge — an energy that never really left him. Joshua was fiercely loyal to those in his corner, loved deeply, and carried a fearless demeanor that left an impression wherever he went.
Joshua was known for his ever-present smile and was the kind of person who made you feel lighter simply by being nearby — there was always a joke dancing on his lips, and sometimes he would make you laugh before you even knew why. He adored teasing his sisters and often wrapped his love up in a playful insult of some kind, a dynamic that perfectly reflected how he showed affection to those closest to him. Family meant everything to Joshua, and his relationships were built on humor, loyalty, and an unspoken understanding that he would always be there when it mattered most.
Endlessly curious, Joshua was driven to teach himself new skills and better understand the world around him — whether that meant learning how to spin a pen in his hands, attempting a trick shot at the pool table, mastering a chess strategy, reading up on what makes people tick, or performing all his own car repairs and maintenance.
Joshua had a deep love for cars — namely his first BMW — and spent countless hours in his dad’s garage, hands dirty and determined. Tinkering and making plans for his car was nowhere near a hobby; it was where he felt most in his element.
Above all else, Joshua was a brother. A little brother in title only, he was protective and always there when you needed him. He had a way of making you feel whole and welcome on your most broken days, without judgment or correction. Joshua was also a devoted son, grandson, and nephew who loved helping with projects and making silly faces in family photos. He was a friend to many — his ability to accept you exactly as you were, was truly one of his greatest superpowers. Joshua made life a little bit louder, a little bit wilder, and a lot more worthwhile.
Joshua’s absence leaves a crater in our lives that cannot be filled, but his memory will be carried forward in stories retold, random shenanigans, scary movie jabs, checkmates, late-night garage sessions, sushi meetups, Taco Bell hauls, and family-sized lasagnas. It reminds us that our love for Joshua does not end here; rather, we carry him with us in the small, everyday moments — a song on the radio, a kind gesture from a stranger, an early morning sunrise, a perfectly lined-up shot at the pool hall.
A celebration of life will be held to honor Joshua on December 22, 2025, at 477 Distilling in Loveland, Colorado, from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. We invite anyone who felt touched by Joshua to attend.
Joshua will forever be etched in our hearts and remain a part of our story — likely our most cherished chapter.
Cremation is entrusted to Howe Mortuary & Crematory of Longmont, Colorado.
