

Juanita Lopez of Longmont, CO died April 22, 2008 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 70.Juanita was born in Durango, Mexico on June 23, 1937 to Antonio Perez and Dolores De La Cerda. She grew up in Chihuahua and then received her training to become a nurse in Juarez, Mexico. Juanita was a teacher and nurse in Mexico before coming to the United States in 1977. She worked at Longmont Foods for 13 years and then Trend Technologies in Longmont for 12 years.Juanita was an active member of La Hermosa Assemblies of God Church in Longmont. She led Women's Ministries and was secretary for the church. She enjoyed reading and studying the Bible, attending church, and going shopping. She also enjoyed spending time with her family to whom she was a loving mother and grandmother.Mrs. Lopez was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Julia Madrid. Surviving are her son, Guadalupe A. Hernandez and his wife Sara of Longmont; her daughter, Elba Isela Hernandez of Ft. Collins; a sister, Antonia Portillo and her husband Blas of Whittier, CA; 7 grandchildren: Eliud, Joel, Sammy, Raquel, Ruthy, Mathew, and Rebecca; 5 great grandkids; and numerous nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24 at Howe Mortuary from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Howe Mortuary on Friday, April 25 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Guadalupe A.
