

June Morgan Gray, 78, of Longmont, died May 28, 2010 at her home.She was born July 1, 1931 in Piedmont, Alabama the only child of Harbin and Bernice (Savage) Morgan. June graduated from the University of Alabama with a Masters degree in secondary education. On July 11, 1953 she married Lieutenant Edward H. Gray in Rolla, Missouri.Her parents preceded her in death.June was a principal for the Virginia Industrial School for Delinquent Girls in Bon Air, VA. While in Virginia, she was involved in Bon Air Junior Women's Club, serving as President in 1963. In 1966 she moved to Spokane, WA and oversaw Project C at Jantz Alternative High School and Continuation School, catering to dropout youth. The Gray's moved to San Rafael, CA in 1985 where June worked further with at-risk youth. She would later join Macy's as a sales associate before being promoted to a consultant and trainer for the sales associates and later bridal consultant at San Rafael Macy's. She loved retail sales and dealing with the public and working with the sales associates.With a deep love of Christ and history, June studied and taught countless Bible study series, including Precepts, Bible Study Fellowship, Women in the Word and Stonecroft. She served in many capacities at each of her church homes and was a Kid's Hope USA Mentor at Burlington Elementary in Longmont. She is survived by her husband Ed Gray and her daughter Melinda Carol (Vince) Jordan of Longmont and her son Edward Morgan Gray of Spokane, WA. Seven grandchildren further survive her: Joseph Gray, Apryl, Josiah, Jeremiah, Vincent P., Rachel and Joshua Jordan. Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Service. A Memorial celebration will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 1, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church with Reverend Max Bailey officiating.
