

Kenneth Sutherland was a Marine forever and always. His moral compass was true and his sense of duty, honor, respect and love carried him though life and brought him many dear friends.Ken was born to Lillie (Haas) and Philip Sutherland in Waco, TX on August 17, 1946. As a youngster, he was fortunate to visit California frequently spending time with paternal relatives and enjoying the car trips to get there, adventurous as they were. He served admirably in Viet Nam and upon his return and graduation from college, he joined IBM. During his time at IBM, Ken relocated many times, always a dedicated employee willing to go where the business needed. His last relocation, at his request, was to Colorado a state he frequented on many skiing adventures. His dream, which was realized, was to retire and live his life in Colorado. In Colorado, he met his soulmate Stephanie Stapinski and in their twenty five years together they had many adventures, sharing amazing experiences and memories with treasured family and friends. Ken was a true friend, who opened his heart to those he loved and who could always be counted on to help those who came his way ¦.. often before they asked. He was a proficient craftsman who enjoyed creating and building, enhancing their home in Colorado. He was a renaissance man, accomplished in so many areas from computer skills to home improvement and he enriched the lives of all who knew him.Ken was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his spouse, Stephanie, and many loving relatives and friends.Memorial Service, 2:00 PM, Tuesday August 21, 2018 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
