
Larry Howard Everett Jr.March 27, 1961 “ October 3, 2012Larry H. Everett Jr. (51) of Aurora died October 3, 2012 in his home. The funeral services will be held Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 10:00 AM, in Ahlberg Funeral Chapel at 326 Terry Street in Longmont, Colorado. Visitation will be held in Ahlberg Funeral Chapel Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Burial, at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery, 620 11th Avenue, will follow the funeral.The Callahan House at 312 Terry Street will host a reception after the burial. Those not attending the burial can go to the Callahan House after the funeral. The Callahan House is next door to the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.Larry was born in Louisville, Kentucky. His family moved to Boulder, Colorado, in 1966 and to Longmont, Colorado, in 1968. He graduated from Niwot High School and continued his education to receive a BS/Business Administration from American Intercontinental University. He also received a private pilot's license from the Federal Aviation Administration and flew Cessna 172 airplanes from Front Range and Centennial airports.Larry worked for AT&T for 23 years. He began as a Customer Service Rep and left the company as an Infrastructure Planning Project Manager for the Western Region of the United States.He worked for United Airlines for 5 years as an instructor of Business Education and Ramp Supervisor.He worked as a Manager for Jet Stream Ground Services until the present.Larry's love of flying went beyond his General Aviation License. He was an avid flyer of Radio Control Airplanes. He competed in aerobatic and scale meets in the region. He was president of the Denver R/C Eagles for two years, a member of the Longmont Aircraft Modelers Association and the Academy of Model Aeronautics. Larry was also involved in Junior Achievement and enjoyed coaching and refereeing basketball games. He delighted working with young kids, providing them with direction and a sense of accomplishment. Larry was known for his gentle smile and willingness to help. He worked with many new modelers to get them started in model aviation. He had many friends that were naturally drawn to him. He was also a strong leader when that was demanded. He will be missed a great amount.Larry married Carol in Hawaii in March 2010. They enjoyed traveling together and visited 7 countries.Larry is survived by his wife Carol, his sons J.T., Chad, and Matthew, his stepdaughter Monica Lee, his brothers, Todd, Michael, and Brian, and his parents, Betty (mother), Joan (stepmother), and Larry Everett Sr.Contributions can be made to Larry Everett and sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
