
Leah McBee passed away peacefully in her home in Longmont on Thursday, November 12, 2020. She was born in San Antonio, TX on March 24, 1956 to Clarence and RoseAnn Olinger who are now both deceased.
She married the love of her life, Gary McBee, on January 4, 1975 in Tucson, AZ. They were married for 45 years, 11 months and 8 days at the time of her passing. The family moved to Longmont, CO in March 1989. She loved to sew and grew that passion into being the manager at JoAnn Fabric and then again when she opened her upholstery and window treatment business, Leah’s Creative Threads. She loved spending time with her family, hanging out and doing crafts with her grandkids and great grandkids. She was an avid gardener who took pleasure in planting and taking care of her gardens. She went yard selling as often as could and loved to drag her family members along with her. She attended the Longmont Church of the Nazarene in where she loved to volunteer and help out wherever she was needed which included “volunteering” her family members as well.
She is survived by her husband Gary McBee, her daughter Christi Whisner, her son Chris McBee and wife Anita McBee, her honorary son Mark VanZee and wife Kristen VanZee, her grandchildren, Haley McBee, Rebecca Colvin, Lindsey McBee, Alexandra Colvin, Stephen Colvin, Christopher McBee Jr and Riley Whisner, her great grandchildren, Liam Moulds and Aiden Langhoff. her brother Eric Olinger and wife Krista Olinger and brother Clifford Olinger and wife Denise Olinger.
