Leo B Rodriguez

Leo Rodriguez, 94, of Longmont, CO died August 14, 2010 at his home.Leo was born April 8, 1916 in El Paso, Texas, the son of Matias Jose and Severa (Vasquez) Rodriguez. He moved to Colorado with his family in 1922 from Texas.He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 – 1945. Leo worked for Golden West Milling Company fro 25 years as a mixer and machine operator. Leo married Dolores Del Real on October 25, 1974 in Boulder. Leo was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, VFW Post 2601, and the American Legion, Post #32, in Longmont. Leo was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Tony, Jacinto, Pete, Ray and Larry Rodriguez and his sisters Esther Sainz, Mary Vela and Josie Rodriguez. Survivors include his sons Leo, Jr and LeRoy Rodriguez of Atlantic, Iowa and Lawrence Rodriguez of Longmont, CO and his daughters Barbara Peterson of Mead, CO and Theresa Rodriguez of Denver, CO; step children: Yolanda Gernhauser and her husband Paul of Longmont and Tony Rodriguez of San Pedro, CA. His sisters Julia Montour of Lafayette, CO, Emma Mahana of Greeley and Sister Maria Regina Rodriguez of Milwaukee, WI. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren further survive him. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with Vigil services at 7:00 on Thursday, August 19 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will then be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 20 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church with burial to follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory, Longmont.Memorial contributions are requested to Alzheimer's Association, Colorado Chapter, 455 Sherman Street, Suite 500, Denver, CO 80203.
