

Leo G. Schultz died April 9, 2007 at LifeCare of Longmont. He was 79.Leo was born on August 6, 1927 in Wells, Minnesota to Gregory Schultz and Anna Kulla Schultz. He was raised in Wells attending schools there. He served in the U.S. Army.While on a trip to California, Mr. Schultz stopped in Longmont. The year was 1954 and it became his permanent home from that point forward. He began working for local homebuilders. In 1972, he joined Hensel-Phelps Construction, working in the commercial construction area. He worked on numerous job sites, in several states, retiring in 1992. Mr. Schultz married Ardean Niebuhr in Wells, Minnesota on November 26, 1957. He was a long time member of St. John?s Catholic Church. He was also a member or the American Legion, Elks, Moose, and the Knights of Columbus.Leo enjoyed working in his wood shop, fishing with his grandsons and going to the Moose Club on afternoons with his pals, affectionately known as the Rat Pack.Preceding him in death were his brothers Quentin, Alfred, Leroy, Felix and Robert Schultz.Surviving are his wife of Longmont, two daughters Lynn (Mark) Fendrich of Wells, Minnesota, Bridget (Randy) Wagner of Spring, Texas, two sons Gregory Schultz and Dena Garcia of Brighton and Alan Schultz and Carmen Sill of Frederick; five brothers Eugene (Bonita) Schultz and David Schultz of Longmont, Roger (Corrine) Schultz of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Vern (Frances) Schultz of Loveland, Donald (Laura) Schultz of Berthoud; a sister Victoria (Donald) Sonnek of Wells, Minnesota, sister in laws Marilyn Schultz of Wells, Minnesota and Diane Schultz of Reinbeck, Iowa; grandchildren Joshua and Nicole Schultz, Logan and Zach Fendrich, Justin and Ryan Wagner and step grandchildren Mike and Nick Wagner.No visitation is scheduled. A cremation has been entrusted to the Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services. Contributions may be made to St. John?s Catholic Church, 323 Collyer St., Longmont, CO 80501.A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 13 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
