Jo was born on March 26, 1945 in Quinter, Kansas to George Holmes and Edna Geisler. She moved to Loveland as an infant and was raised there. She graduated from Loveland High School in 1963.
Jo married Robert Thompson on November 27, 1965 in Loveland. The couple moved to Longmont shortly there after.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She focused her time on keeping an immaculate home and providing for her husband and children. More recently she cherished her time with her three grandsons. Her garden was her personal oasis, raising roses and peonies.
Preceding her in death were her son Randy Thompson, her parents and her infant sister Brenda.
Surviving are her husband of Longmont; her daughter Lisa (Steve) Selleck of Longmont and her three grandsons Zachary, Nicholas, and Lukas.
A Vigil services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 30 at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery with Deacon Bob Howard officiating both services.
