Lorraine L. Wales

Lorraine Lea ?Lori? Wales, of Berthoud, Colorado died suddenly of natural causes on Monday, September 18, 2006 in Superior, CO. She was 46 years old.Lori was born on October 29, 1959 in WaKeeney, Kansas to Walter and Leona (Windholz) Baugher. She grew up in Kansas and Montana before moving to Colorado in 1976. After graduating from Golden High School in 1976 she attended Bel-Rey Veterinarian Institute in Denver where she became a certified veterinarian technician. Ms. Wales worked at the Longmont Animal Hospital for 18 years. Since 2001, she worked for the Work Options Group in Superior.Lori had a passion for riding and showing horses. She had a love for music, laughter and potluck gatherings with friends and family. Ms. Wales is preceded in death by her parents; her brother Walter Calvin Baugher, III; and her sister Mary Shandy.She is survived by her sister Peggy Westervelt and her husband Wayne of Lewellen, NE; brother-in-law Jim Shandy of Lewellen, NE; her niece Suzie Cassidy and husband Jeff; nephew Mittchell Baugher and wife Karen; great-nephew Troy Cassidy; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her many dear friends. She was loved by her two Siamese cats, Jade and Amethyst. A celebration of Lori?s life and potluck gathering will take place at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Howe Mortuary in Longmont. Memorial contributions can be made in Lori?s name to the Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center, 11968 Mineral Road, Longmont, CO 80504.
