

Louise Anderson passed away May 4, 2017 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 100 years old.Louise was born to Emil and Esther Johnson in Rinn, CO where she was the eldest of six children. They were raised on a farm south of Longmont. She graduated from Longmont High School in 1935. She married Edwin A. Anderson February 24, 1946, they were married for 50 years before his death in 1996; together they farmed and raised cattle east of Longmont. She was a devoted stay-at-home mother and farm wife. For many years she raised chickens, a large vegetable garden, and a beautiful rose garden. She was famous for hosting large Christmas Eve open house luncheons. She would spend up to six weeks preparing Swedish food for this event that 100+ people would attend. Louise was a 4-H leader, Sunday school teacher, and active with the Parent Teacher Association at Mead School. She was also a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church in Longmont where she was a member of the Rachel Guild; and she was also a member of the Country Club and the Red Hat Society. She was an avid quilter and was a member of the Interfaith Quilters of Longmont. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Esther Johnson, husband Edwin; and her five siblings Dorothy Lyons, Alice Johnson, Carl Johnson, Gladys Springer, and Lorraine Shupe.Louise is survived by her three children Barbara Foos (Randy) of Las Vegas NV, Jody Anderson of Longmont and Jim Anderson (Brenda) of Erie; her five grandchildren Kristin Foos of Las Vegas NV (Robert Stanzione), Jeremy Foos of Las Vegas NV, Bryan Foos (Tami) of Sammamish WA, Rachelle Wegele (Michael) of Firestone CO and Megan Bell (Aaron) of Dupont WA; her six great-grandchildren Jessica Foos and Ilee Foos of Las Vegas NV, Kaitlyn Foos, Aydin Foos and Ashlyn Foos of Sammamish, WA and Lucas Bell of Dupont, WA. Visitation will be held from 5:00 “ 7:00 pm Wednesday May 10, 2017 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Funeral service 1:00 pm Thursday May 11, 2017 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
