To the Huff family,  thank you so much for sharing this wonderful, kind, considerate man with us at the City of Longmont.  I will never forget the chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine's day or the plumeria stick from Hawaii last year. We are all better for having known him.

My condolences go to Lynn's family.  Lynn has been missed by so many in dispatch.  He was a wonderful man, filled with so much knowledge and kindness, always with a smile and a kind word.  My thoughts and prayers go to all who have been touched by his untimely death. He will truly be missed!

Please accept my most heartfelt condolences on the loss of Lynn.  He was a kind and gentle soul who was always pleasant and helpful to all he came into contact with.  I didn't work closely with Lynn, but I worked often enough with him to value his knowledge and experience especially with the Incident Command System.  In fact, he was one of my ICS trainers.  As I am out of state on Public Safety business, I won't be able to attend his funeral, but please know that my thoughts and prayers will be with him and you.  May you take some solace in knowing that he was loved and respected by so many and that while he walked among us, he did make a difference.

Lynn was a fellow team member and friend.  If you worked with him, he became a friend quickly - one of the those good guys that you will always remember.  It hurt a lot to hear of our loss - and knowing the pain that I felt, it must be awfully hard for  family.  I hope that you are comforted by the love and respect for Lynn from everyone around you, and by knowing that he made a big impact to those of us who were fortunate to have shared a little time on earth with him.

You all are in my thoughts and prayers. I have missed Lynn since he retired as he was very helpful to us in Dispatch when working major incidents and he came into the Center almost daily to talk and check on us and what our issues were, etc.. He was an excellent BC and Admin BC. We really were blessed to work with him for so long. I shall miss him now and even though I believe he is in a good place it is still a painful loss. So many people in our community were blessed and touched by Lynn's life and may never know it. So for all of those who do not thank him or you, I say thank you from all of us - whether we were touched by him directly or indirectly we are blessed. My condolences to Lynn's family on his tragic and untimely departure from world.  Having worked with Lynn on many emergency scenes and other public safety projects I had come to know and respect Lynn a great deal.  He was a true professional who cared about the needs of everyone he worked with and cared for.  He leaves a tremendous legacy for those who follow in his footsteps in public safety wherever they serve.  May God bless Lynn in his new Home & may those who have gone before him take great comfort in welcoming their new friend.  What a wonderful man.  His passing is a great loss for Longmont and the fire services everywhere!

When I first hired on with the Longmont Fire Department I was assigned to Chief Huff's shift.  What I learned early on was that Lynn cared deeply about the fire service and the men and women he worked with.  Lynn would lead by example.  Lynn was a mentor and a friend.  Lynn always had a unique way of looking at the bright side of everything.  If you needed something, Lynn was there to support you.  It was a privilege to work with and call Lynn my friend.  He will be greatly missed. I would like to pass along my heart felt sympathy to Barbara and all of Lynn's extended family. Words cannot begin to express the depth of your loss.  Please know that my family and I have your family in our thoughts and prayers.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Lynn for a number of years.  Despite all of the urgencies and priorities that always came up on assignments, Lynn was always calm, cool, and collected.  He had a great sense of humor and was always a pleasure to be with.  He was definitely ""one of the good guys"" and will be definitely missed.  My thoughts and prayers go his family and friends.

I had the great honor to work with Chief Huff working with the FRFC(then NCFC) academies and fire service training.  I believe he was one of the best instructors I have been able to work with and a great leader in our region. Lynn had the unique ability to look at any issue and talk about the positive outcomes gained by the experience, constantly making lemons into lemonade.  I considered him to be one of my most influential mentors as a Chief Officer.  I am thankful for his friendship and guidance!

Lynn was a phenomenal man.  He always had a smile and a jovial spirit about him.  He will be missed greatly.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family as they grieve.  Lynn, thanks for your friendship, your kindness, and your service to our community.  God Bless.

In Public Safety we are so often surrounded by loss that the passing of someone is just part of life.  Lynn's passing is not, could not and would not be that way.  The personal loss to 100s and 100s of people is obvious in my day to day contacts.  What I feel the most is my loss.  Lynn was a rare and wise man.  He was my mentor.  I learned as a line level officer how personable and intelligent he was.  I saw his leadership and wanted to be like Lynn.  I worked to be a calm and insightful as he was.  I wanted to know all tha Lynn to teach me and then share more.  I could not get enough of Lynn's life and perspective.  I watched how he helped those around him grown and become better, more competent.  Lynn did not just impact us professionally.  He modeled what being a good man was all about. His marriage, his work life, his respect for people and the world around him.  I could write all day on what a great man Lynn is to me and so many others that I have seen him touch.  The void is so visible in our lifes.  Thank you Lynn.  You were loved more then you knew.  But you are not gone, you live in those who you touched and your skills, views,and style go one within each of them and in me if I am lucky.  Heaven is a far better place now that you are there. Thinking of Lynn the first thought that comes to my mind was how every time, and I mean EVERY time, we passed in the hallways at work he would smile, greet you and left me with the feeling that he was sincere when he asked how you were doing.  You know, not like just saying the words - but really asking the question.  He never seemed to be too busy to give a few minutes of his time for a quick conversation.

Barb, Chris and family.... My heart aches at the news of Lynn's passing!  I can only begin to imagine how awesome he was to all of you based on how awesome he was as a part of my life!  It's hard to say goodbye to such a great person, dedicated friend and someone always prepared to give me words of wisdom when I asked. Im grateful to have known Lynn, and blessed to have called him one of my fire family! My heart, thoughts and prayers are with all of you! I always sensed that Huff family was special.  From the moment I moved into the neighborhood - and 12 years later - Barb and Lynn were always mainstays of little cul du sac.  Lynn brought stability, caring and fun to all.  He helped me aeroate my lawn when I couldn't move the heavy machine and was famous for his wonderful BBQ dinners. Lynn was there at my side from the day we got our task books signed off in 2005. There wasn’t an incident or team function that I didn’t have Lynn to help keep me coordinated and calm. Lynn’s calm advice and moral support will always be with me as a reminder of our friendship.  My heart and condolences goes to the family, Lynn was a friend, a mentor to all and my best buddy!

Only worked with Lynn on many fire assignments with the IMT, so never had the pleasure of meeting his family. Just know that in the limited time I had with him, he brought a certain light to things, in addition to his caring and technical knowledge. He will be sorely missed...
