

Mabel D. Evans, of Watertown, South Dakota, formerly of Boulder, Colorado, died Friday, March 17, 2006 in Watertown, South Dakota. She was 79 years old.Mabel was born February 20, 1927 near Watertown, South Dakota to Charles E. and Dorothea (Olson) Johnson. She grew up in Watertown and attended school in Watertown. On October 18, 1947, she married Gerald M. ?Jerry? Evans in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The couple made their home in South Dakota, and Golden, Colorado until moving to Boulder in 1973.Mrs. Evans was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Boulder. She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, and entertaining.She is survived by three sons, William J. Evans and his wife, Debbie, of Bothell, Washington, Terry E. Evans and his wife, Jackie, of Bradley, South Dakota, and Robert A. Evans and his wife, Kathy, of Longmont, Colorado; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband in 2000; her parents; two sons, Scott Evans and Doug Lentz (from a previous marriage); two brothers, Floyd ?Lefty? Johnson and Don Johnson; and three sisters, Stella Furness, Gladys McReynolds, and Hazel Iverson.Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22 at Howe Mortuary, Longmont. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2006 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boulder. Reverend Mark Twietmeyer will officiate.
